Dialogues

Party Talk:
  • If Olivia is in the party:
    • Olivia: "A book store!"
    • Olivia: "No matter how grim things might look, book stores always have something soothing about them."
    • Olivia: "I guess they are my safe space."
  • If O'saa is in the party:
    • O’saa: "This what you call a book store?"
    • O’saa: "A hub for the scholars and knowledge?"
    • O’saa: "Look at this filth!"
    • O’saa: "'The Animal Behaviour in the Human Male'? 'The Little King'? 'Nineteen Eighty-Five'? 'A Tree Grows in Rondon'? 'The Count Dragul of Lyyra'? 'Leaves of Blue Grass'?"
    • O’saa: "Escapism from the dull and mundane? Escapism is the plague of the enlightenment. If you want to escape understanding - By all means do so."
      • If Karin is in the party:
        • Karin: "You just criticized some of the more meaningful modern literature. That's something even I can't look past."
        • Karin: "How does it hurt you if everyone doesn't dedicate their sorry lives to hocus pocus like you?"
        • Karin: "You're a sad man O'saa."
      • If Abella is in the party:
        • Abella: "Have you actually read any of those books? I think even you might find some good ideas and interesting concepts among those pages."
      • If Daan is in the party:
        • Daan: "I think you're bit too hasty there buddy."
        • Daan: "A copy of 'A Tree Grows in Rondon' was passed around in my unit and nothing boosted the morale of the troops quite like that simple little booklet."
        • Daan: "Sometimes escape can be a good thing."
      • If Olivia is in the party:
        • Olivia: "Everyone needs a short break every now and then. What better way to get your mind off the work and studies than fiction?"
        • Olivia: "I'm sure even you have your ways to vent off and relax."
      • If Marcoh is in the party:
        • Marcoh: "I couldn't tell a good book from the bad ones even if I spend a decade studying that stuff, but even I wouldn't go saying stupid things like that."
      • If Marina is in the party:
        • Marina: "Couldn't disagree with you more O'saa."
        • Marina: "Books are the thing that kept me sane when growing up in this humdrum jerkwater town."
    • O’saa: "..."
  • If Karin is in the party:
    • Karin: "Looks like even this small town has got a rather recent selection of books."
    • Karin: "I don't know why, but I find it a little comforting."
  • If Marina is in the party:
    • Marina: "I loved this place when growing up."
    • Marina: "I lived nearby and would come here almost daily to browse through the foreign section."
    • Marina: "I could picture the far-away countries depicted in the books very vividly..."
    • Marina: "Even back then I always wanted to get as far from Prehevil as possbile…"
  • If Marcoh is in the party:
    • Marcoh: "I've always wondered if there's a reader for each and every one of these books?"
    • Marcoh: "So many books, so little time. Being a writer must be tough."
  • If Abella is in the party:
    • Abella: "Hmm... Let's see..."
    • Abella: "Where's the romance section?"
    • Abella: "I could use some light reading to keep me warm at nights."
  • If Daan is in the party:
    • Daan: *Yaaaaawn*
    • Daan: "This store makes me sleepy."
    • Daan: "I've never been much of a reader... Books work better than a sedative for me. I always fall asleep within 10 minutes when reading something."
  • If Levi is in the party:
    • Levi: "..."
    • Levi is browsing through the gothic horror section...
      • If Marina is in the party:
        • Marina: "Find anything interesting?"
        • Levi: "..."
        • Levi: "Just browsing..."
        • Marina: "You've been browsing that particular book for a good while now..."
        • Levi: "Oh...?"
        • Marina: "What is it?"
        • Levi: "It's nothing, nevermind..."
        • Marina: "'The Count Dragul of Lyyra'?"
        • Levi: "..."
        • Marina: "Nice pick."
        • Levi: "..."

Trivia

  • If the Bobby disappears after Marina or her Doppelgänger arrive, trying to sleep on the bed will cause him to appear due to him not being counted as killed. (Bug)
  • Many of the non-usable books and bookshelves can be inspected for a look at their contents. Adventure books and erotic novels are among the goods sold here.
  • Several books are references to real-life books, including "The Count Dragul of Lyyra" (Dracula), "Nineteen Eighty-Five" (1984), "The Little King" (The Little Prince), "A Tree Grows in Rondon" (A Tree Grows in Brooklyn), and "Leaves of Blue Grass" (Leaves of Grass).

Trivia

  • If Samarie got killed in this location she can be infinitely beheaded. (Bug)
