When found in Level 1 Backyard

  • "Hold it!"
  • Outlander: "... I see... Seems like you still retain your sanity. In a way it's reassuring to see that I'm not completely alone here. Tell me - are you evil?"
    • "Yes."
      • Outlander: "Hmm... Is that so? Well I suppose no one in these dungeons can call themselves saints exactly. But your presence here just means these dungeons will claim one more victim. ...And the evil residing here will grow that much stronger. If I were you, I'd try to escape these ancient walls by any means necessary. For your sake, I hope our paths don't cross again here."
    • "No."
      • Outlander: "Hmm... Only time will tell. You'd be surprised what you truly are capable of, once you stay long enough here."
  • Outlander: "But your presence here just means these dungeons will claim one more victim. ...And the evil residing here will grow that much stronger. If I were you, I'd try to escape these ancient walls by any means necessary. For your sake, I hope our paths don't cross again here."
  • Outlander: "Stay cautious in the dungeons. The evil in this place is of pure kind. It's not here just to torment us, it's not here to spread its roots into surrounding world. Even if the dungeon's vile traps and decrepit monsters would lead you to believe otherwise. Its interests are already past this world and this place is a mere relic from its long history."
  • Outlander: "What is it?"
    • "You seem familiar with this evil."
      • Outlander: "Ja, yes. My kind, the northern people of Oldegard... We found the dark continent of Vinland from the far-reaches of the west. The moment you lay your eyes on the crooked mountains and the twisted forests of those lands - You feel the presence of a greater evil. It's that same evil that resides here."
    • "Who are you?"
      • Ragnvaldr: "You can call me Ragnvaldr. I'm from the north, from the kingdom of Oldegard."
    • "Why are you here?"
      • Ragnvaldr: "I am here to find a relic that a certain person took from my people. This man is imprisoned somewhere deep down below."
    • "Maybe it's safer together?"
      • Ragnvaldr: "No doubt it would be for you. But for the time being, I won't be traveling with you."
    • Attack him
      • Ragnvaldr: "Tch. So you got a dead wish after all."

When found in Level 4 Thicket

  • Ragnvaldr: "Oh. You again? You're still alive! Hah! I guess I misjudged you previously!"
  • Ragnvaldr: "This place is truly curious, isn't it? They say these are the intestines of the god of the depths. That means we are inside an older god!"
    • The god of the depths?"
      • Ragnvaldr: "Ja, yes. He is not that well known god as he is mostly worshipped by those who are forsake and forgotten. His people often shy away from light and prefer dark corners of the earth. You've seen the cavedwellers yet? They prove my point quite well. The god of the depths is responsible for the layout of these dungeons. He is ever-changing his shape to challenge the visitors. I'd try to please him, if I were to delve deeper."
    • "Have you found what you are looking for?"
      • Ragnvaldr: "Nej, not yet. There is a man imprisoned somewhere in these dungeons. The man has something that shouldn't belong to any human. I'm here to retrieve it. And perhaps get rid of the man while at it... He carries an ominous energy with him. I'm not sure what to think of him."
    • "Would you like to join my party?"
      • Ragnvaldr: "Hmm... To be honest. My verdict on you is still open. I don't trust you to put it bluntly."
      • Ragnvaldr: "Hmm... Maybe I will actually. There is clearly more to you than what I initially expected, so it would be an honor to crawl these dungeons with you."

In combat

  • Ragnvaldr: "..."
  • "What is your purpose?"
    • Ragnvaldr: "I won't let anyone stand in my way of revenge."
  • "Wait. We don't have to fight!"
    • Ragnvaldr: "That is what I thought too, but you proved me wrong."
  • "Please don't!"
    • Ragnvaldr: "Your pleads are for the deaf ears."
  • "Prepare to die."
    • Ragnvaldr: "I'm ready for afterlife. Are you?"
  • Ragnvaldr: "Run or die. I will give you a tiny headstart."

Low mind

Ragnvaldr is nervously humming a folk song of some kind…

Ragnvaldr lets out a deep sigh. Something seems to be bothering him…

You realize that there’s been a change in Ragnvaldr’s posture. He isn’t looking quite as strong as before…

  • Ragnvaldr: “D’arce… My head… I don’t feel well… I need to sit down and collect my thoughts for a moment…”
    • “What’s wrong?”
      • Ragnvaldr: “Maybe it’s the darkness. Maybe it’s an unknown hex put on me… I feel dizzy… The tunnels are spiraling ever so slowly… I think I need to catch my breath here for a moment… You can go on ahead. I will catch up with you…”
        • “It’s not a good idea to stay behind alone.”
          • “Ragnvaldr: “... Ja. The darkness clouded my mind. Nevermind. Let’s continue our quest.”
        • ““Okay, let’s meet up later.”
          • “Ragnvaldr: “Ja… Stay safe out there… I’ll be back…”
    • “Maybe you need to take a small break…”
      • Ragnvaldr: “Ha, I need to straighten my head. A short meditation should do the trick… Stay safe out there… I’ll be back…”
    • “This is not a good place to stay!”
      • “Ragnvaldr: “... Ja. The darkness clouded my mind. Lucky you’re still able to see through this dark veil. If I question the same again, just slap me and tell me I’m getting delirious.”
        • ““I’ll do just that.”
        • ““It happens to the best of us.”
        • ““...”
    • “Let’s push just a little bit farther…”
      • Ragnvaldr: “... I like your attitude. Let’s do just that… I’m sorry for doubting myself. I believe I can trust in you.”
    • “You’re dead if you stay alone.”
      • Ragnvaldr: “Haha! You talk a true Oldegardian! Ja. You are very right. I didn’t come down here to join the army of darkness. Let us continue!”

If Enki is in the party

  • Enki: “....Hm. And here I thought you were a big northern beast of a man who is not afraid of a single living thing. Are you saying you are giving up? Pathetic.
  • Ragnvaldr: “... You got a tongue of a serpent, has anyone ever told you that? … Gyah hah ha! You got me. You got me… Fine. Let’s just continue.”
  • Enki: “...” You can see faint traces of a smile on Enki’s face…
  • Actually no. You must be imagining it. He keeps his cold expression same as always.

If he leaves the party

  • Ragnvaldr: “... …I will just catch my breath for a little while…” Ragnvaldr looks devastated. Despite his large physique, he appears a lot smaller as it is
    • Give him a bottle of Ale
      • Ragnvaldr: "An ale…?” Ragnvaldr drinks up the ale in a single gulp.
      • Ragnvaldr: “That helped a lot. Thank you my friend. It’s terrifying how big of a grasp our mind has to our bodies… Without your aid… I’m sure I’d be fighting my battles in afterlife by now.”
    • Nevermind

Show love

Ragnvaldr: “...No.” Ragnvaldr ignores you completely.

Ragnvaldr: "...Very well." Ragnvaldr seems to think this course of action benefits you both in your survival.

When found in the Void

  • Ragnvaldr: “Oh… it’s you. I didn’t think I’d meet anyone in this abyss ever again. How long has it been?"
    • “What do you mean, we just got separated?”
      • Ragnvaldr: “...Really? That’s worrying… Either the time doesn’t function properly here or I’m losing my mind. Wouldn’t be surprising if this place finally got me…”
        • “It happens to all of us sooner or later…”
          • Ragnvaldr: “Hah. I’m starting to lose faith here. Maybe we were never meant to survive this darkness.”
          • Ragnvaldr: “… But it’s good we are finally reunited. Let’s continue together.”
        • “I’m sure the time is somehow twisted here.”
          • Ragnvaldr: “I don’t know which option is the worse…”
          • Ragnvaldr: “… But it’s good we are finally reunited. Let’s continue together.”
    • “I’m not sure…”
      • Ragnvaldr: “Mm. It’s very difficult to measure time when you cannot see the cycle of the sun and moon. I’ve tried to keep track and it’s been approximately three months since we sat on that throne.”
      • Ragnvaldr: “… But it’s good we are finally reunited. Let’s continue together.”
