He was once sentenced to the prisons. He used to lust to hurt women. Now he is an epitome of his perversions.
- The New Gods when asked about the Night lurch.
The Night lurch (Infected) is a unique enemy encountered in Fear & Hunger. He is a rarer variation of the regular Night Lurch.
Lore
Before being twisted within the Dungeons of Fear and Hunger, the Night lurch was a human being. His past identity remains a mystery and whether he was a lord, thief, commoner, peasant, bandit, or knight is uncertain and may never be revealed, however it is known that he was a serial rapist.
After his capture, the Night lurch was sentenced to the Dungeons of Fear and Hunger, where he suffered at the hands of the black, and became a manifestation of his perverse nature.
Location
At each start of a playthrough, there is a 50% chance that the regular Night lurch encountered at Level 7 - Catacombs may replaced by this pollinated version. He will chase the player even if they are wearing the Ghoul outfit, possibly due to the effects of the brain flower.

Strategy
Running is the safest way to survive the Infected Night Lurch. If you can't or don't want to run the best way to kill it is to go for the Brain Flower. if the brain flower is still alive at the end of the first turn it will use the attack "pollinate" which gives you the status effect "brain flower". The Night lurch is a tough enemy that fights using both his arms and his head. The arms are capable of cutting and using Critical slash which deals 29-41 slashing damage, causes bleeding, 70% chance to inflict critical state, 50% to infect arms. The head uses the attack Nasty bite which deals 16-24 piercing damage and has a 70% chance to infect an arm or leg. The Night lurch can also use a coin flip attack at the end of the second turn: failing the coin flip will cause the protagonist to receive Anal Bleeding debuff and exit the battle, although it is still possible to dodge the leap animation in the overworld.
Cutting both arms will make the Night lurch use Tackle (24-36 blunt damage) at the end of every turn.
It is recommended to either use magic on the head, throw a Priest's lantern at his head or use a Murky vial for a quick kill.
There is a 25% chance that the player gets a special interaction at the start of the fight, where they can choose to ambush, wait or run from the battle. If the player is solo, they should run from the fight until the interaction comes up to take out the Night lurch safely.
