Armor

Armor types

Armor types determine which slot the armor goes into. Most characters in the game have no restrictions on their armor slots, with the following exceptions:

Damage reduction

Each armor piece protects against certain types of damage: Slashing, Piercing, Blunt, Fire and Otherworldly.

Damage resistances can stack, but they are multiplicative. For example, equipping the Gaunt bascinet (Piercing 85%) and Gaunt plate armor (Piercing 65%) will result in gaining Piercing 55% resistance.

Healing

Items that restore Body, Mind or cure negative statuses.

Some vials will provide a glass vial upon use. The exceptions to these are:

  • Vials used in combat (red vial, purple vial, murky vial, explosive vial)
  • Fake potions (potion of full healing, potion of full sanity, potion of life)

Damage types

Every weapon has at least one of the five types of damage: Slashing, Piercing, Blunt, Fire and Otherworldly.

Characters without a weapon deal Blunt type damage. Most enemies in the game have a slight weakness, typically 15%, to either Slashing or Piercing.

Weapon types

The weapon type indicates whether or not certain characters can use the weapon, as well as whether or not it's a two-handed weapon (requiring both arms and disallowing use of a shield). Spears and Big swords are the only two-handed weapons, although the characters that can use the Dagger and Skeleton arm cannot use shields.

Armor types

Armor types determine which slot the armor goes into. Most characters in the game have no restrictions on their armor slots, with the following exceptions:

Damage reduction

Each armor piece protects against certain types of damage: Slashing, Piercing, Blunt, Fire and Otherworldly.

Damage resistances can stack, but they are multiplicative. For example, equipping the Gaunt bascinet (Piercing 85%) and Gaunt plate armor (Piercing 65%) will result in gaining Piercing 55% resistance.

Trivia

  • Due to a script error in data files, some specific weapons that were supposed to inflict bleeding, poisonous or confusion debuffs are unable to do so.
  • Weapons with multiple elements will deal damage based on the enemy's biggest weakness they cover.
