Talk is a skill always available to the playable character in Fear & Hunger and Fear & Hunger 2: Termina. It allows the player to potentially escape from the current fight they are in.
This page is about the skill from Fear & Hunger 2: Termina. For the skill of the same name from Fear & Hunger, see Talk (F&H2).
Obtained
In Fear & Hunger, Talk is an exclusive skill inherent to the player character, automatically acquired from the start of the game.
Mechanics
Using Talk in battle will trigger a dialogue prompt if the enemy is willing to interact with the player. In both games, nearly every enemy presents opportunities for interaction. Various dialogue choices can yield favorable results, such as causing the enemy to skip turns, refrain from using specific attacks, bestow items upon the player, facilitate peaceful or effortless resolution of the battle, or unveil additional lore. Conversely, opting for certain dialogue options may lead to adverse consequences. Using Talk during battle does not interrupt the conflict by default; both your fellow party members and the enemy will continue their actions as usual, even if they choose to respond to the conversation.
In Fear & Hunger, Talk also serves as a means for players to engage with their party members in non-combat situations. The dialogue primarily adds flavorful context to the game's lore, and the content of these interactions varies depending on the specific map or location the player character is currently exploring.
Associated skills
- Learning Mastery over insects is a requirement for Talk to work on Cave spiders and Scarabs.
