"You feel dizzy being this close to the monolith... Your sight becomes blurry and you can hear your blood rush in your veins..."
The Hollow Tower is a major endgame location in Fear & Hunger 2: Termina. It is the center of the Termina festival, and is the place the player character and other contestants dream of when they fall asleep.
Lore
The Hollow Tower is a mysterious landmark, and has existed for a very long time. In the past, settlers built a village around the tower that eventually kept growing into the religious city of Prehevil, which flourished during the Cruel age starting around the 15th century. Hundreds of years later, the tower was used by Per'kele, a supposed servant of the Moon God Rher, to perform the Termina festival in the city.
The Termina contestants all have the same dream of this location (although with slight variation) where Per'kele greets them with some cryptic messages, and the tower is later revisited whenever they fall asleep.
Location
The Hollow Tower stands tall in Prehevil's grand Temple District, north of the Altar of the One God and east of the Bohemia National Museum.
Gameplay
When sleeping, you will arrive at the tower, where you will be able to save your game and access the Hexen to learn new skills. Also, Per'kele can be talked to, who will remind the player to head to the tower in reality and tell them how many contestants are left alive.
Upon reaching the tower, the protagonist can interact with the door at the base of the tower by touching it. If touched while another contestant is in the party, then a transformation sequence will occur in which each contestant party member will Moonscorch and transform, immediately initiating combat. Although the door is still interactable while being alone or having a non-contestant party, touching the door won't trigger any event.
After eliminating the other 13 contestants, the tower's door can finally be opened, leading into a giant elevator that will rise until it reaches the very top. Upon reaching the top of the tower, an incredible view over Prehevil can be seen before quickly being transported to the alternate version of the tower. It is highly recommended that the player prepares before entering the elevator, and it is favourable to bring non-contestant party members if possible.
Once being transported, Per'kele will be met, congratulating the protagonist for killing every other contestant and becoming The Champion of Termina. Per'kele will proceed to share several secrets before providing you with multiple choices depending on your prior actions. You must challenge Per'kele himself in a difficult battle to ultimately prove yourself, then if the tower was entered on Day 2, Ending C will be a option, otherwise Rher's traces will take interest and humour you with a final battle - resulting in Ending B.
