"You feel dizzy being this close to the monolith... Your sight becomes blurry and you can hear your blood rush in your veins..."

The Hollow Tower is a major location in Fear & Hunger 2: Termina. It is the center of the Termina festival, and is the place the player character and other contestants dream of when they fall asleep.

Lore

The Hollow Tower was once a mysterious central pillar for the community settlement in Prehevil, even before the flourishment of this capital from 1600. Centuries later, the tower was used by Per'kele, a supposed servant of the Moon God Rher, which dares to perform the Termina festival in the city.

Most of the Termina participants share their experience through the vision from their dreams by witnessing this figure and constantly "revisit" this location during their rest.

Location

Despite the fact that the contestants can visit the tower anytime through their dreams, the exact location of the tower can be found in the north of the temple district section from the inner city of Prehevil.

Gameplay

Much like in the old entry of Fear and Hunger, you can Save your game and use the Hexen to spend Soul stones and learn new skills. Lastly, talking with Per'kele will remind the player of how many participants are left alive.

From outside the dream, the protagonist can interact with the door from the base of the tower by touching it. If touched while having another contestant in their party, then a transformation sequence will occur in which the specific victim will be turned into a moonscorched version of themselves, immediately initiating combat. Although the door is still interactable while being alone or having a non-contestant party, touching the door won't trigger any event.

After eliminating every other character, the protagonist will have access to open the tower's door, leading into the elevator room that will rise until it gets to the top of the Moon Tower. It is highly recommended that the player prepares for it first-hand and brings a non-contestant party with them.

Once they reach the top, they'll be met by Per'kele, congratulating the protagonist for killing every other contestant and becoming The Champion of Termina. Perk'kele will then proceed to share their wisdom by warning the champion that they were falling into the great scheme planned by the New Gods, and then they will offer the player a choice to join Rher's pantheon or by being allowed to be free and get another chance to see the next day. Either way, this will initiate the final fight against Per'kele itself to conclude the trial.

After defeating the master, the ending scenes will be present, showing the results of the choice from Per'kele's deal. If the protagonist refuses to join the sacrificial pantheon, they will return to the train as the sole survivor in the festival, escaping Rher's trace despite being tainted by it, and proceed to follow their own fate in the epilogue. Otherwise, if the player accepts to join the sacrifice, after eliminating the master, they will immediately be killed by the ritual and will be reborn as the Sulfur God.
