Run is a skill always available to the playable character in Fear & Hunger and Fear & Hunger 2: Termina. It allows the player to potentially escape from the current fight they are in.

Acquirement

Run is a base skill for all characters, but escape plan can be learned:

  • Can be learned in Karin and Marcoh's intros.
  • Can be learned at the Hexen using a Soul stone if the player is Karin of have killed Karin.
    • Requires Lockpicking to be learnt prior.
    • Can't be learned by party members.

Gameplay

There are two types of Run:

  • Run! which is accessed by pressing escape in the battle menu.
  • Run which is accessed through the skills menu.

The first uses a formula to calculate your chance of escaping, which is as follows:

(Average Agility of player's party / Average Agility of enemy) * 50 = % Chance to escape

The agility of most enemies' body parts is 10, however there are some exceptions.

For every time the player fails to escape through this method, they are given an extra 10% chance with each failure until they successfully escape.

The run skill in Termina works differently, in that each subsequent successful escape against most enemies will lower the chance of the next usage of the run skill working. Upon changing maps, there is a 20% chance that your escape chances will reset to the default value, except in Masoχ-S/M mode, where it will remain at the lowest chance permanently.
