There are two categories of skills in Fear & Hunger 2: Termina: Contestant skills and God Affinity skills.

  • Contestant skills are determined by your chosen character and their INTRO dialogue choices. Each of the 14 Termina Festival contestants has a specific skill tree, and to unlock those, a player character needs to kill that contestant in-battle to collect their souls. Characters who happen to die due to other situations will render their specific skill trees unavailable for that particular run.
  • God Affinity skills are spells related to six different gods and each of them requires the player to build affinity with so they can be learned. It is important to note that some of these spells require building affinity with more than one god. In the current version of the game, opportunities to build affinity are rather limited.

To learn a new skill, a player needs to access the Hexen, at the cost of one Soul stone per skill. Some of these can only be learned by the player character, while others can be taught to anyone currently active in the party - however, it is not possible to teach the same skill to more than one character.

Contestant skills

Diagnosis Study fallen enemies and their anatomy to gain knowledge of them. Diagnosis also reveals what strategies might work the best when facing similar foes in the future. Gives an option to examine defeated enemies in the overworld to find their weaknesses. Passive
Medicinal Sacrifice harvested organs to Vitruvia, the architect of the human body. A sacrifice will cure a corresponding status ailment. Medicinal is based on the law where every action has an equal reaction. Gives an option to use harvested organs to cure different status effects:
Liver (Toxic)
Kidney (Poisoned)
Eye (Blindness)
Heart (Bleeding)
Parathyroid glands (Fracture)
Thymus (Infected arm/leg)
Passive
Organ harvest Harvest organs from fallen foes to sacrifice them with your medicinal skills. The desecration of bodies used to be a taboo subject, but it is now widely used among medical practitioners. Gives an option to harvest organs from defeated enemies in the overworld. Passive
Precision stance A special stance to raise your accuracy greatly. Often used during medical surgeries to prevent one's arm from shaking. Applies Accuracy Boost status. 5 Mind
Magna-medicinal A greater form of medicinal where the surgeon will sacrifice their own limbs in exhange for human life. The procedure must be performed on the spot during an encounter to work properly. Gives an option to sacrifice a limb to revive a party member. 50 Mind

Analyze Study the anatomy of your opponent to quickly find the biggest weaknesses it their physique. Inflicts Weakness status to target's head. 20 Mind

Short circuit Short circuit an electric lock to open locked doors. Relatively simple in practice, but short circuiting the wrong conductors might lock the door for good. Allows you to open doors with electronic panels in Tunnels. Passive

  • Turn 4 - +400% M.Attack

Meditation Reach a higher state of awareness. Meditate while guarding to gain extra Rev points on that turn. Guarding grants an extra Rev point. (Grants two Rev points instead of one, it is glitched) [Has to be learnt before Perfect Guard, otherwise both skills break] Passive
Greater meditation Reach a greater state of awareness. Meditate while guarding to gain even more Rev points on that turn. Guarding grants two extra Rev points. (Currently Glitched, doesn't do anything) Passive
Spice forge Spice forges were widely used by magick practitioners of the Middle East back in the day. Spices make it possible to customize the properties of your otherwordly skills. Give spells special effects. First (White) magic happens at the start of battle; Second (Red) magic casts a spell twice at once but hits a random target; Greater (Blue) magic costs less Mind. Free

As of version 1.9.1, Meditation grants 2 Rev points making Greater Meditation redundant. This is likely to be a bug.

Advanced botanism The skill to condense the effective properties of herbs and plants to maximize their potential. Teaches you the recipes for condensed blue and green herbs as well as lavender. Unlocks recipes for: Passive
Poison tip Coat your weapon in poison extracted from the local plantlife. The poison tip takes a small toll on your sanity because of the constant stress of handling a poison coated weapon. Applies Poison Tip status, can be used before battle. 5 Mind
Undergrowth awareness You can harvest irritable and poisonous plants safely and also tell apart the plants that have potential use in your situation. A passive skill useful on the field. Gives an option to harvest Deep blue root, Poison hemlock, Nettle and Wild dagga in the overworld. Passive
Toxicology The skill to condense the effective properties of different poisonous plants to maximize their potential. Teaches you the recipes for condensed nettle and condensed hemlock. Unlocks recipes for: Passive

Escape plan A skill that greatly enhances your chances of running away from fights. Planning for an escape in advance pays off. A passive skill. Doubles the chance of running away from the battle when using Run skill. Passive
Diplomacy Start the fight by talking to the opponent without wasting a turn. Maybe you can find a diplomatic resolution before any violence takes place? Triggers Talk skill at the start of the battle without wasting a turn. Passive

En garde Long combat experience has prepared you for fights. Prepare for an attack to gain advantage by pressing [E]. Press [SHIFT] on the overworld right before engaging with an enemy to get a free attack. Free
Order, Charge! Give orders to your team to charge and attack the enemy without wasting their turns. Other party members will automatically attack again at the end of a turn. 40 Mind

Perfect guard While guarding your damage is reduced even further and you can evade the most drastic physical trauma. Prevents limb loss while guarding. Passive
Counter stance Stay alert for enemy attacks and counter when possible. Applies Counter status. Free
Adrenaline rush The longer the combat goes on, the stronger you get as your blood boils ever hotter. Increases Attack over the course of 3 turns:
  • Turn 2 - +5% Attack
  • Turn 3 - +10% Attack
  • Turn 4 - +30% Attack
Passive
Fast stance Raise your speed with swift footwork. In most cases you get and extra turn between enemy attacks. Applies Speed Buff status. Free

Gunslinger Advanced use of pistols. Precise shots can occasionally dismember opponents. Used on field. Allows you to dismember enemies in the overworld with Lugr Pistol. Passive
Executioner Advanced use of trenchguns. You are able to execute a stunned enemy by shooting it again on the field. Allows you to instakill stunned enemies in the overworld with 12-gauge Trenchgun (currently works without a skill). Passive
Marksmanship Advanced use of rifles. You are able to one-shot enemies with the rifle every now and then. Used on field. Gives a 25% chance to instakill enemies in the overworld with Rifle .303 Mk I or Bayonet (doesn't apply to some unique enemies). Passive

Engrave Engrave a sigil on a party member. The benefit of the sigil varies depeding on the god it belongs to. Historically sigils were carved on the body, but modern practition prefers face sigils. Allows you to carve a sigil on your face to gain a certain buff:

Warding sigil Draw a warding sigil on the ground to fend off malice and creatures with ill intent. Originally created by the Virgin Mages of the Eastern Sanctuaries. Allows you to create a sigil on the tile you're currently standing on which will block enemies. 10 Mind
Advanced occultism Your advanced knowledge in occult arts enables you to start a battle with an extra Rev point. A passive skill. Gives +1 Rev point at the start of the battle. Passive
Greater occultism Your greater knowledge in occult arts enables you to start a battle with 2 extra Rev points. A passive skill. Gives +1 Rev point at the start of the battle. Passive

Blood sacrifice Sacrifice your own blood for Gro-goroth, the god of destruction. A blood sacrifice will enhance your affinity with the said god. Sacrifices like these were everyday occurences back in the day. Increases Gro-goroth affinity when used on Gro-goroth ritual circles (can be done mutliple times). Using it will deplete 150 Body, but will always leave at least 1 Body (unless used when below 50 Body). Passive
Masturbation An act of self-love enhances your affinity with Sylvian when performed on a ritual circle. This act is widely popular among the priests of Vatican when mixed with blood sacrifice. Increases Sylvian affinity when used on Sylvian ritual circles (can be done once per circle). Passive
