The Spice forge is a Skill in Fear & Hunger 2: Termina. A powerful ability that buffs spells with special effects, it can learned naturally by a player-controlled O'saa or by other protagonists who acquire his Enlightened soul.

Lore

Historical accounts reveal the utilization of spice forging by magic practitioners of bygone eras to alter the attributes of their magick. This practice seems to have originated in the Eastern Sanctuaries, where a thriving spice market and a longstanding tradition of exotic otherworldly practices provided fertile ground for its development.

Obtained

A player-controlled O'saa can learn the skill by using a Soul stone at the Hexen. Other player characters can learn it after killing O'saa (or his moonscorched form, Mastermind) and collecting his Enlightened soul, which unlocks his own skill tree at the Hexen. Spice forge requires the player to learn La Danse Macabre and Meditation beforehand, as it is a third-tier skill of the Enlightened soul skill tree.

Spice forge can only be learned by the protagonist of a particular playthrough - it cannot be imparted to companions.

Mechanics

Spice forge can be accessed outside of combat through the character's skills menu. When activated, it unveils an interface displaying spell names alongside three small vials containing colorful spices: white, red, and blue. This menu exclusively showcases spells that are compatible with Spice forge, and unlearned spells are shown in a muted gray text, making them unselectable.

The skill allows the player to customize spells with special effects through the use of the spices:

  • The white spice triggers the spell to activate at the start of the battle.
  • The red spice either induces the character to dual-cast the chosen spell at a randomly selected target or buffs the effects of said spell.
  • The blue spice reduces the spell's Mind cost.

It is important to note that each spice can only be applied individually. Attempting to add a second spice to an already enhanced spell will nullify the effects of the initial spice.
