Strategy

Fear & Hunger Mode

The most efficient strategy is to take out Fecal Hounds in the overworld with a single round of any firearm, as initiating battle with them will immediately inflict Nausea 2 to all party members, an inconvenient status effect that will waste White Vials that could be otherwise used to cure poison (unless you are willing to put up with its effects). If you have no ammo/firearms and must fight, the hounds are one of the weakest enemies in the game and are only a threat if you are unable to kill them all in the first turn while lacking a cure for the Infection debuff. They can usually be killed in a single attack from a good enough weapon, but if you are solo and lacking double attacks it is advised to use an area of effect item or spell if more than 1 is present.

Masoχ-S/M Mode

Same as Fear & Hunger Mode, although dealing with them using firearms is even more favourable as due to enemy damage reduction it is possible that each hound might need more than one attack to be killed.
