The Giant is a boss encountered in Fear & Hunger 2: Termina. If not dealt with properly, Marcoh will turn into Giant due to Moonscorch on Day 3 Morning.

Location

If not recruited, Marcoh will become moonscorched on Day 3 Morning. He can be found in the Rher dimension of the White Mold Apartments, inside one of the cells until he is released. Once released, every 10 seconds he will have a 1/3 chance of going down the stairs on the right side of the second and third floor.

On Day 3 Night, Marcoh will moonscorch and turn into Giant.

Inflicting the head with Blindness 1 does not make Blindness 2 apply to the rest of the body, so the player should use Black smog or throw Glass shards directly at his arms.

Strategy

Fear & Hunger Mode

Giant is a mostly simple fight. He deals primarily blunt damage through Rage Smash and Body Toss. An interesting quirk about Giant is that his head won't appear until Turn 2, his head has no Magic evasion so it's recommended to go for it. On the third turn and every five turns onwards, the Giant will initiate a coin flip at the end of the turn. Failing the coin flip will lead to getting hit by Mad Rush, which hits five times. Giant can accumulate damage on you very quickly if the party is not prepared. His Rage Smash attack inflicts the Fracture Status effect.

Talk

  • Giant: “G-GUILT! GUILT!” The giant is furiously shaking its head... It doesn't seem very receptive at the moment...
    • Player: [PERSUADE] “Please don't do this!”
      • The whole body of the monstrosity is contracting. It seems to feed off of its own rage and violence. Although you do recognize a slight hint of comprehension buried deep within the hulking beast...
      • If repeated:
      • The movements of the monstrosity are slowing down... It seems to doubt its conviction in killing you... You are able to pacify the giant just a little bit... (+Skips 2 turns, -Rage)
      • If repeated again:
      • The body of the monstrosity is contracting violently! Your words don't seem to have a positive effect any longer. If anything the thing seems to get even more furious from your persuasion. (-Skips 2 turns)
    • Player: “Please don't do this!”
      • The whole body of the monstrosity is contracting. It seems to feed off of its own rage and violence.
      • If Giant is enraged:
      • The giant seems to be calming down a little bit... But just a little bit. It's still clearly after you. (-Rage)
    • Player: “Just calm down! There's no need for violence!”
      • Giant: “Mmggraaaaawh!!!” The creature doesn't seem to calm down.
    • Player: “A raging beast should be put down.”
      • Giant: “Mmggraaaaawh!!!” Your threats go to deaf ears.
    • Player: Nevermind
