Lore

Pillarmen get their name from their function at the Church of Alll-mer: to be tied on the church pillars and cry their gospel to the churchgoing folk downstairs.

Strategy

Fear & Hunger Mode

Every turn of combat, a throbbing lump will appear on one of the six sections of the Pillarman's rectus abdominis. The animation of the lump is quite subtle and may require close inspection in order to identify which ab it is currently on. Using any otherwordly skill on that ab will destroy it and will puncture the Pillarman's lung, causing him to suffocate and die at the end of the turn, if you dont have any otherwordly damage source nor party members then guarding until reaching 3 rev points is the best way to deal enough damage to the ab with the throbbing lump. The Pillarman has a "Bulldoze" coin-flip attack, which if failed, will cause the Pillarman to knock you off of the ledge they are standing on, dealing 20 body points of damage and ending the battle prematurely.

Masoχ-S/M Mode

The same strategy for Fear & Hunger Mode applies.

Dialogues

Talk

  • Pillarman: “The choir of Alll-mer! The gospel of agony!” The pillarman tirelessly charges at you! You don't even get a chance to talk to him properly.

Player:
“You are not entirely sure what has caused this man to grow this huge. He is humongous in every sense of the word. Except for his groin area. His muscles are almost bursting out from the torso. The skin is peeled from the top of his head and nailed on the chest and back to expose the disfigured head that is shaped like an anvil. The exposed skull even feels as thick as one. The man doesn't suffer from similar malformations and burns as the people you saw outside. His skin is very pale in fact. Almost like he hasn't seen sun in years. The pillarman has no particular weaknesses other than otherwordly powers having an increased effect on him.”
If Daan is in the party:
“I'm not entirely sure what has caused this man to grow this huge. He is humongous in every sense of the word. Except for where it counts. His muscles are almost bursting out from the torso. The skin is peeled from the top of his head and nailed on the chest and back to expose the disfigured head that is shaped like an anvil. The exposed skull even feels as thick as one. The man doesn't suffer from similar malformations and burns as the people outside. His skin is very pale in fact. Almost like he hasn't seen sun in years.
