The Janitor is a boss encountered in Fear & Hunger 2: Termina. He is often the first enemy encountered during any given playthrough.

Location

The Janitor can be found in the intro sequence, assuming the player did not skip it. He can be found once again if the player enters one of the Golden Gates, and enter the left-most door. If they killed him in the intro, he will still be dead.

Strategy

Fear & Hunger Mode

The Janitor is a formidable foe when encountered in the intro. It is possible to shoot him with a Rifle or Trench Gun from afar as Levi, use Abella's Wrench Toss, Daan's Analyze, or rely on a lucky bear-trap drop to defeat him.

Besides these unique methods, due to the Janitor's torso having low HP, characters that start with a weapon stronger than the Knife have enough damage output to defeat him in two turns. For Marina and Olivia, who always start with the knife, cutting the legs and then going for the head is their only reliable strategy, and it requires the Janitor to miss once, as his damage output kills the player by turn 3.

Trivia

• Judging by the appearence of the Janitor's back, and its resemblance to Dysmorphia's face, it is possible the Janitor is a moonscorched human.
• If the Janitor defeats the player character in the intro dream, he will cut off their legs and leave them bleeding with 1 health point.

Warning! Speculation ahead! Information below is hinted on, but wasn't directly confirmed in-game.

• He is likely a Sulfur Cultist, evidenced by the blue paint on his face (present also on Needles, Stitches and Per'kele).
• One fan theory posits that he is the janitor of the White Mold Apartments and the culprit behind the murders therein. In addition to the culprit also being a Sulfur Cultist, If he were the janitor of the apartments he would be able to open each apartment door with his own keys.
