The Gull bros are a pair of bosses encountered in Fear & Hunger 2: Termina.

Location

The Gull bros are exclusive to Masoχ-S/M mode. If the player uses the Tes'tich table at the Orphanage, the Gull bros will destroy the table after the player exits and attempt to engage in battle. If avoided, they will try to chase the player through the orphanage. Leaving the orphanage without killing them will make them stalk the player in outdoor areas of the city, similar to Needles. They will also begin stalking the player if they collect any two of the three effigies.

If the player reaches the White Bunker without killing them, they will appear one last time in an attempt to kill the player.

Strategy

Fear & Hunger Mode

The Gull bros are the most dangerous chaser enemy in the game. The Gull bros have two main attacks, Mauler and Peck. Mauler deals 40-60 blunt damage and has a 50% chance to inflict a fracture, if the target is Olivia she has a 40% chance of being knocked down from her wheelchair. After the second turn, the Gull bros will be able to use Peck, which is an instant kill move if it hits. In most cases, it is not recommended to fight them and instead run around the table and leave the Orphanage.

If the player decides to fight anyway, they should either make sure they already have 16 or more agility and at least either Glass shards or Black smog to blind them by the end of the second turn. Mischief of rats would be useful to stun them on the first turn to avoid being hit while trying to blind them, although not necessary. Since they don't have any resistances, applying any sort of DoT status effect will make the fight end a lot sooner.

Dialogues

Talk

  • Gull Bro: “Kyaaa kyaaa kyaaa!” The gull brothers are cackling at you.
    • Player: [PERSUADE] “I bow down to your greatness...”
      • Gull Bro: “Kyaah kyah kyah kyah!” It seems that your persuasion tactics made the gull brothers laugh hysterically... (Skips 1-2 turns)
      • If repeated:
      • The gull brothers are only smirking at you. You feel ashamed that you tried bowing down again...
    • Player: [INTIMIDATE] “I'll ram that mauler so deep your bird brain will feel it.”
      • Gull Bro: “Kyaah kyah kyah kyah!” It seems that your intimidation tactics made the gull brothers laugh hysterically... (Skips 1-2 turns)
      • If repeated:
      • Gull Bro: “Kyaaaaaa!” Intimidation doesn't seem to have effect any longer. The gull brothers are serious now.
    • Player: “What is so funny?”
      • Gull Bro: “Kyaaa kyaaa kyaaa!” It seems like you're the punchline in their joke...
    • Player: “Please stay away!”
      • Gull Bro: “Kyah!” Your pleads go to deaf ears. The gull brothers just get more excited as you show weakness.
    • Player: “Prepare to die.”
      • The creatures are tilting their heads and taunting at you.

Interactions

After defeating them they leave 2 bodies which have the same interactions.

Medical diagnosis Nothing
Player with Diagnosis:
“The head of the creature really is that of a bird... Or a seagull to be more precise. At first you thought it was just a mask. Somehow rest of the creature is all human. A human in peak physical form, sure, but normal human regardless. You have no explanations for what could've caused this mutation.”
If Daan is in the party:
“The head of the creature really is that of a bird... Or a seagull to be more precise. At first I thought it was just a mask... Creepy. Somehow rest of the creature is all human. A human in peak physical form, sure, but normal human regardless. I have no explanations for what could've caused this mutation.”

Devour Success “You devoured the remains.”

Trivia

  • They are one of the four boss enemies who appear more frequent/exclusively in Masoχ-S/M mode.
  • The Gull bros are a homage to the Crow Mauler from the first game.
  • As of version 1.9.1, it is possible to prevent the Gull bros from spawning by picking up the three effigies from the side. Note that they will still spawn if the player interacts with the Hexen in the Orphanage.
  • If the Gull bros spawn in the White bunker, they cannot be shot in the overworld due to a bug.
