The Centaur is a boss encountered in Fear & Hunger 2: Termina.

Lore

Though little is known about the Centaur's origins, it appears to be a disturbing Marriage of Flesh between a horse and a human.

Location

This boss can be found in the Deepest Woods, found through a narrow passage in the Deeper Woods. It wanders around the entrance to Tunnel 1, forcing the player to get past it to enter. Be aware that it is one of the fastest enemies that the player will find in the overworld and can outrun you easily - however, it can be dodged without much effort as it can only charge in a straight line, unable to change direction until it comes to a stop.

Strategy

Fear & Hunger Mode

The Centaur's main attack is Stampede, which hits the entire party multiple times with high damage. In addition, it has a large pool of health and two weak points, both of which must be destroyed to kill it. The Centaur can easily wipe out an unprepared party in a single turn. The Centaur can only use Stampede if all 4 of it's legs are alive, and it will use Stampede every turn that all 4 legs remain alive. Therefore using the first turn to focus down one leg can make the fight more manageable, though still difficult.

It is highly recommended that the player's party either use pep pills or blind the torso.

Avoiding the encounter is also recommended, as the Centaur can be easily dodged due to its unique movement pattern in the overworld.

Player with Diagnosis:
“The skin of the beast looks like a mix of burns and boil damage. Some of the injuries seem to originate from inside the creature. The most bizarre feature is the human torso stemming from the back of the creature. The anatomy of the torso does look like human apart from the prolonged neck and head. The body looks vulnerable to piercing and slashing attacks especially.”
If Daan is in the party:
“I'm no veterinarian, but let's give this a look... The skin of the beast looks like a mix of burns and boil damage. Some of the injuries seem to originate from inside the creature. Can't avoid the elephant in the room either - there's clearly a human body thrown into the mix. I don't even want to guess how that happened... The body looks vulnerable to piercing and slashing attacks especially.”
