- Sylvian Trooper to Platoon.

The Sylvian trooper is a boss encountered in Fear & Hunger 2: Termina, also referred to as the commander when initiating her fight. She is accompanied by the Platoon.

The Sylvian trooper is a female officer from the Bremen Army. She is apparently aware of the Kaiser's true plans and believes her time is coming to a close, as there is no need for people on said plans' new world. She however fights the player character anyway, for a "last thrill ride". It is implied through her dialogue in-battle that she either witnessed or participated in the bloodshed caused by previous iterations of the Termina Festival between the officers from Bremen at Prehevil.

As her name states, she is likely a worshipper of the old god Sylvian, which probably influenced her seductive behaviour and provocative choice of clothing. Additionally, the rabbit ears she sports resemble the face ornament wore by Bunnymasks, a sect of Sylvian worshippers.

Warning! Speculation ahead!

Information below is hinted on, but wasn't directly confirmed in-game.

As her physical appearance displays slightly unusual proportions, this could potentially suggest that her current body is a result of a Marriage of Flesh ritual, one of the known practices of Sylvian.

The combination of Sylvian trooper and Platoon is a guaranteed encounter in the final hallway towards Kaiser's location in the White Bunker. Moving down the corridor causes a small animated scene before immediately initiating combat.

Nonetheless, the player has the option to bypass this cinematic by sprinting towards the Sylvian trooper and touching her.

Fear & Hunger Mode

If the player sprints quickly enough to catch the Sylvian trooper before combat begins, they can initiate the fight early without the Platoon, who will only appear in the second turn. If the player manages to defeat the Sylvian Trooper before the second turn, they will win the fight instantly and skip the battle with the Platoon.

To take down the Sylvian trooper quickly, it is important to focus all attacks on either her torso or head. If targeting her head, using magic has the chance of hitting her by 60%. Alternatively, one could use Heroin to boost the party's strength and eliminate her.

The Sylvian trooper's primary move is Whip, which she executes with her right arm, inflicting approximately 35 damage and has a chance to cause bleeding. If her right arm is severed, she will resort to a weaker Tackle. She can also use Order, Charge! with her torso, which deals around 40 damage to the Platoon and provokes them into attacking the player's party.

Although she may seem like a minor threat by herself, the Sylvian trooper's ability to command the Platoon and direct it to use its mortar should not be underestimated. Failing to dodge this attack will result in fatal damage, and death is certain unless the player uses items to counter it. Eliminating her before the Platoon can be advantageous as it confuses them, causing them to skip turns instead of attacking during the battle.

  • Sylvian trooper: “Hm. Aren't you impatient.”

  • Sylvian trooper: “...” The sylvian trooper just whips her whip and points towards you.
    • Player: [PERSUADE] “You've seen the carnage, why continue serving the army?”
      • Sylvian trooper: “You gave the answer yourself already. Our time is coming to a close. There is no need for us in the new world. This is our one last thrill ride. We get to dance in the red rain one last time.”
    • Player: [INTIMIDATE] “This deep no one will hear you scream.”
      • Sylvian trooper: “Is that a promise~?”
    • Player: “The war is over, we don't need to do this!”
      • Sylvian trooper: The sylvian trooper tilts her head slightly and takes a mocking stance. “The war might be over but Kaiser gave us this one last thrill ride. Let's make it count, shall we~?”
    • Player: “What is this bunker?”
      • Sylvian trooper: “From the blood soaked soil a new sprout rises. Exciting, isn't it~?”
    • Player: “Prepared to die, soldier?”
      • Sylvian trooper: “Always. You?”
