Doppelgängers are unique hostile enemies encountered in Fear & Hunger 2: Termina. Like in legend, these are beings that mimic those around them and try to blend into their role. They are evil in nature, using their stolen appearance to fool and kill unsuspecting victims. This particular creature tries to emulate Marina during the Termina Festival.

Lore

Marina's double appears indistinguishable from her in the overworld, also exhibiting an ability to replicate her speech and mannerisms with accuracy. Compared to other Doppelgängers in the game, Marina's clone is likely the most accomplished at emulating her real-life counterpart. She will not initiate a fight by her own will even when confronted by Marina, but will reveal a twisted, horrific face if a fight takes place.

Location

She can be found in the Book store, in the central section from the city of Prehevil, after recruiting the real counterpart. It will disappear once the real Marina is dead.

Strategy

Much like the person it's trying to imitate, Doppelgänger Marina is able to attack with both of her arms, and both of them have a chance to use 4 attacks: Pyromancy Trick, Flesh Puppetry that hits two times, another Flesh Puppetry that hits 4 times and Black Smog. If both of her arms are removed, she will resort to Tackle.

If not dealt with properly, she can blind you and make the game almost impossible for the rest of the run if you don't have a harvested eye and Medicinal skill. For this reason, it's not really recommended to deal with her on early game, and only do when you have either a magical spell to get a bigger chance to just hit her head, or get a weapon that can do enough damage to her torso in one turn (like Meat Grinder.)

Trivia

  • Despite Doppelgänger faces being physically different from the real versions, their heads still count as their respective contestant's head. This means you have the option to trade some items from Pocketcat for their heads without killing any contestant characters.
